SAS Programmer

Our client, a large early phase CRO has asked Bryan Forrest of the Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a SAS Programmer to join their team in the Greater Toronto Area. This role will be responsible for designing, validating, and implementing SAS programs to the clinical research team.  

Responsibilities:

  • Design and run SAS programs to perform statistical analyses and produce illustrations (TLFs/TLGs) as covered in Data/Statistical Analysis Plans
  • Perform validation on SAS programs, outputs, and applications
  • Produce datasets for SAS analysis and CDISC submission
  • Develop and implement SOPs, SAS or SQL codes, and programming coding standards
  • Provide input on annotated Case Report Forms to ensure efficient programming, and Data/Statistical Analysis Plans in relation to clinical data illustrations
  • Contribute support for: staff regarding statistical programming, importing data from external sources, coding, auto coding, and Adverse Events reconciliation
  • Ensure activities are in accordance with ICH guidelines, SOPs, regulatory authorities, and Good Clinical Practice
  • Maintain proper documentation of data and programming information as per SOPs and guidelines
  • Keep abreast of information by participating in training sessions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher in relevant discipline (computer sciences, statistics, mathematics, health sciences) w/ 2+ yrs. experience in clinical research SAS programming
  • Strong working knowledge of: global standards related to clinical research data, requirements for electronic submission, medical coding, clinical data & statistical analysis practices, and experimental design
  • Proficiency in SAS programming with excellent computer skills; SAS certification preferred
  • Experience working with PL/SQL, Java, or C would be an asset
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work individually and in teams to meet deadlines
