Director of Sales
Our client is a national industry leading and innovative organization specializing in the distribution of energy efficient products and technologies for the utility sector; this includes the gas, electric, and water sectors. This forward-thinking company is looking for an exceptional leader to add to their leadership team as the ‘Director of Sales’; responsible for the Western Canadian provinces, which includes, British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
As the Director of Sales, you will use your established leadership skills to effectively develop, lead and direct a strategic team of sales professionals. In addition, you will also be responsible for the high profile, top-tiered municipal/ utility clients, which includes targeting, and prospecting, as well as the account management process of these complex, multi-channel, multi-stakeholder municipal customers.
This role is well suited for an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, someone who can impart knowledge, and motivate. We are looking for an innovative and strategic thinker, that will challenge himself to look outside the box and consider…“Is there a better way of doing this?”. Someone who is willing to note and acknowledge trends and shift strategies to capitalize on new opportunities. Your exceptional communication skills, combined with your sound organization skills, will ensure success leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of sales professionals, while profitably growing a new division within this expanding national organization.
The successful individual must have:
- Proven track-record of Technical Sales success, as well as selling into municipal markets
- Must have experience with long sales cycle, long pursuit account development
- Must have experience managing, selling, and working with multiple stakeholders in complex organizational structures
- Minimum 5 years experience in a direct sales leadership role
- A post-secondary education – preferably have an Engineering degree (P.Eng)
- Technologically savvy - experience selling products that incorporate both technical and software applications
- Ability to sell a complete value package while focusing on the value of soft cost savings.
With a flexible working environment, you can work between a home-based office, or, utilize the B.C. office workspace as an option.
