Key Account Manager – Power & Utilities

Our client is a global leader in the electrical industry. They are a very successful, Fortune 500 organization. They have asked Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Key Account Manager to join their team and oversee the South Western Ontario region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, manage, and grow key supplier relationships
  • Contribute to the development of sales presentation materials and product line reviews for strategic national accounts
  • Identify and develop programs to address vertical market opportunities
  • Communicate and interact internally and externally at mid and senior management levels
  • Negotiate key supplier contracts
  • Develop and communicate product/supplier positioning and go-to-market strategy
  • Work with sales management to identify and address regional opportunities
  • Effectively communicate key product messaging both internally and externally
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with issues that will affect the product categories development


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing & product management roles
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Analytical and detail-orientated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/ presentation skills
  • Strong background in the commercial and industrial electrical market
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical product management, particularly within electrical bulks, switchgear and lighting
  • Candidates should have strong supplier relationships, particularly within the switchgear and lighting product categories
