Director, Pharmacy (Long Term Care)

Our client is the industry leader in pharmaceutical care. They have asked Jordan Taylor of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Director, Pharmacy (Long Term Care) to lead their operations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in long-term care pharmacy operations overseeing multiple locations. This leadership role is an opportunity to advance your career within a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to contribute to organizational success in the Long-Term Care space
  • Develop and implement strategies, standards, policies & procedures, programs, and best practices to support the company’s mission and objectives
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, hiring, and succession planning to multiple pharmacy sites; Promote a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Ensure sites are in accordance with SOPs, company culture, policies & procedures, health & safety standards, and legislation through regular monitoring and auditing
  • Establish workflow efficiencies to ensure effective customer service and patient safety
  • Contribute to business development by connecting with stakeholders in the area to grow the business
  • Utilize current technologies to promote operational efficiencies and to promote the business in the region
  • Develop and achieve operational key metrics and financial targets
  • Provide support during the renewal and negotiation of LTC contracts
  • Stay current with trends related to the industry including participating in professional development activities
  • Frequent travel in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years or more experience in a management role within a long-term care pharmacy environment
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in achieving operational results  
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate information, including metrics, to different stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suites and related applications
